When we are stressed, our body may no longer find a solution to the problem and therefore cause difficulty in breathing.

This phenomenon is called dyspnea and manifests itself in two forms:

  • Inspiratory dyspnea: it is difficult to breathe in air
  • Expiratory dyspnea: Conversely, it is difficult to breathe out air.

The pathology is characterized by difficult respiratory movement, whether consciously or unconsciously.

In addition, dyspnea is experienced differently: either it is tachypnea (acceleration of breathing) or it is bradypnea (deceleration of breathing).

Finally, this respiratory problem varies according to its frequency.

A short and rare dyspnea will be said to be acute, while a longer duration and an appearance at regular intervals will be said to be chronic.

Inspiratory dyspnea is often due to an obstacle in the larynx: foreign body, phlegmon, epiglottitis, vocal cord paralysis or even tumor. Here we will only be interested in case the breathing problem is due to stress.

First, you need to know when you have difficulty breathing.
