Difficulty breathing is something that should not be taken lightly.

It is essential in life and it is essential to find solutions when there is a problem.

The discomfort linked to bad breathing

Hypothyroidism is when the thyroid gland is functioning poorly.

This ensures the production of hormones which are essential for the proper functioning of organs.

The thyroid regulates heart rate, body temperature, muscle energy, weight, and even mood.

It cannot be cured but it can be controlled with advanced medical treatments.

There is a drop in metabolism with symptoms which can range from fatigue, weight gain, feeling cold or slow heart rate.

Hypothyroidism and Breathing Difficulty

This problem has several causes that you must know in order to adapt the solutions and thus improve your personal comfort:

  • Hashimoto's thyroiditis: by the immune system, this disease will destroy the thyroid gland. It would come as a result of stress or a viral infection.
  • Postpartum thyroiditis: In some women, an autoimmune reaction may occur in the weeks or months after giving birth. In a few cases, this leads to hypothyroidism, which is more or less marked.
  • A treatment that alters the gland: when you want to treat hyperthyroidism, radioactive iodine treatments often cause hypothyroidism which will be permanent.

Breathing difficulty, also called dyspnea, refers to the perception of a disturbance in inhaling and / or exhaling.

The rhythm is changed and an unpleasant sensation appears.

Respiratory discomfort can arise from the following causes:

  • Laryngitis: Inflammation of the larynx prevents the vocal cords from vibrating freely when air passes
  • Obesity which causes compression of the rib cage
  • Heart problems: all diseases of heart failure
  • Respiratory problems: pathologies like asthma
  • The presence of a foreign body in the respiratory tract

Ways to improve your breathing and feel better

As mentioned previously, the malfunction of the thyroid gland cannot be cured but the well-being can be improved thanks to some treatment but also small essential changes.

They can also be applied to correct dyspnea.

The first thing to correct is smoking.

If you are a smoker, quit now.

Tobacco prevents oxygen from properly attaching to red blood cells and therefore reaching the cells.

The difference in breathing is visible.

As a continuation, it is recommended to do regular physical activity.

Running and swimming are sports known to be complete.

If you are obese, losing weight will free up your rib cage and the benefits will show.

A healthy diet goes along with these two elements: vary the foods and eat a balanced diet, it's good and it works!

Finally, it may be recommended to work on your general breathing movement.

The solution may simply come from better execution of this vital gesture.
