Death represents the unknown. Inescapable, we know that we will all be faced with it one day or another.

If some accept, or even resign themselves, others are absolutely terrified of death, whether it is their own death or that of a loved one. We then speak of thanatophobia.

Fear of Death

The feelings of emptiness and sadness generated by the death are dreaded.

Not knowing when or how death will occur, all this dimension of the unknown that surrounds death, is a source of anxiety.

The fact of having to leave his property, his relatives, his life is impressive, especially as the aftermath remains uncertain.

But these unanswered questions are not the only causes of thanatophobia.

Often, the loss of a loved one, prematurely and unexpectedly, is the trigger for the phobia of death.
